Ok, you asked for it!

How did we get to this point? In 2011 we founded a CrossFit gym in Pasadena, CA. We learned so much from that experience, but in 2015 decided to sell our shares to focus on working one-on-one with athletes. When we’re not reading or training, we’re using a functional medicine approach experimenting on ourselves and building better training methods for our athletes. We revel in applying our knowledge of hormonal pathways and functional medicine for improving our clients quality of life both inside and outside the gym. Practical application of underlying principles is really what we’re all interested in anyway, right?

Brandon is an electrical engineer by schooling. He’s spent a ton of time in his previous life pursuing degrees and toiling in a lab.

From developing global warming radar technologies measuring glacial melting in Antarctica to working on NASA’s Mars Rover, his passion has always been asking questions and finding answers.

Deriving theories based on principles, testing and assessing. These are the skills we apply every day with our clients.

Nicole, on the other hand, has a doctorate degree with 10 years experience as a clinical pharmacist focused on primary care/preventative medicine.

Disillusioned with many of the practices employed through Western medicine, she left that career to combine her nutrition and training knowledge with her medical background and help clients improve their lives naturally rather than relying on a lifetime of prescription medications.

Both Brandon and Nicole have a deep love of training. Growing up Brandon could be found on the ice hockey rink or playing roller hockey until the wee hours every night. He also dabbled in football, basketball, and long distance running before finding his love of strength and conditioning.

Nicole has been athletic her whole life starting from her early years as a gymnast. As she grew older she became a competitive endurance runner holding a Kansas state record in the half marathon. She ran countless races from 400m up to marathons over her 13-year competitive running career before falling head over heels for the barbell.
